Description:
You will be the Utilities & Mechanical Systems Engineer- Level 3 for the Utility Systems
- Vehicle Systems team which is responsible for designing, improving, and sustaining utility and fluid systems on AMMM aircraft such as the C‑130 and C‑5. What You Will Be Doing As the Utilities & Mechanical Systems Engineer
- Level 3 you will be responsible for delivering high‑impact mechanical and fluid‑system solutions that keep our transport aircraft mission‑ready.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design, analyze, and refine mechanical and fluid utility systems for C‑130 and C‑5 platforms. Provide troubleshooting, production support, and sustainment solutions for flight controls, landing gear, fuel, hydraulic, and related subsystems. Generate and update engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Conduct lab testing, investigate non‑conformances, and implement corrective actions. Coordinate with suppliers, prepare statements of work, and lead supplier‑qualification efforts. Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering), or equivalent experience/combined education
- Experience with one or more aircraft Utility and Mechanical Systems (Flight Controls, Landing Gear, Hydraulics, Fuel, APU, Equipment & Furnishings, etc.
Desired Skills:
- Experience preparing Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs), Development Specifications, and Source/Specification Control Drawings.
- Experience with Mechanical or Structural design, including model and drawing definition, using Catia V5 or similar software.
- Experience with aircraft system root-cause corrective action (RCCA) activity.
- Experience with vendor management and providing technical oversight of supplier components.
- Experience with large transport aircraft Mechanical or Fluid Systems.
- Experience providing Engineering customer interface, meeting support, technical discussions with USG personnel.
- Control Account Manager (CAM)/Earned Value Management (EVMS) experience.

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for thisPosition:
