We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in mechanical design and analysis to support the development of innovative engineering solutions. In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems and components, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to bring concepts from initial design through testing and implementation. The ideal candidate has experience with CAD-based design, structural or thermal analysis, and simulation tools, along with the ability to translate analytical results into practical engineering solutions.WHY OCEANIT?

Design & Engineering Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar). Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural, thermal, and mechanical performance of components and systems. Support the development of design concepts, prototypes, and production-ready engineering solutions. Conduct engineering calculations, simulations, and trade studies to optimize design performance. Generate engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Analysis & Simulation Develop and run FEA models to analyze stress, deformation, fatigue, and thermal performance. Interpret simulation results and recommend design improvements based on analysis. Validate analytical models through testing and experimental data when applicable. Support design verification and validation activities. Collaboration & Project Support Work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, scientists, and project managers. Support prototype fabrication, testing, and product development activities. Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical discussions and decision-making. Ensure designs meet applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and project specifications. Additional Responsibilities Assist with troubleshooting mechanical systems and resolving design challenges. Support preparation of technical reports, project documentation, and presentations. Contribute to proposal development and technical planning when required. Perform other duties as assigned by engineering leadership.THE EXPERTISE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field. 3-8+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis. Experience with CAD modeling and engineering drawing development. Demonstrated experience performing finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, or similar. Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, structural analysis, and design principles. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in written and verbal formats.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with multiphysics simulations (thermal, fluid, or coupled analysis). Experience with prototype development and testing. Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, additive manufacturing, or fabrication. Experience working on R D, government-funded, or advanced technology projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.
