As a company that values craftsmanship, precision, and innovation, we're excited to bring a skilled About the Role Ideal candidates are hands‑on problem solvers who can manage multiple priorities, think critically through challenges, and contribute to both new system development and design improvements. Work will include new tool design as well as participating in ground‑up development of machines, automation cells with robot tending and value-added equipment in a SolidWorks environment. The Mechanical Design Engineer contributes to technical execution from concept through build while maintaining engineering standards and supporting team development. Candidates must be able to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and contribute to a positive, supportive work environment. Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple concurrent design initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure design decisions align with quality, schedule as well as budget objectives
  • Design and develop standard and custom process tooling for wire forming
  • Resolve mechanical design, integration, and performance challenges
  • Develop and implement engineering modifications and continuous improvements
  • Create and manage SolidWorks assemblies and comprehensive drawing packages
  • Maintain engineering standards and revision control within SolidWorks PDM
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors
  • Occasional travel may be required (< 10%) Qualifications
  • 4-7+ years of hands-on experience designing automated or industrial equipment
  • Proven experience participating in mechanical subsystem design from concept through build
  • Understanding of motion systems, structural design, and component integration
  • Proficiency creating production-ready drawings with proper GD&T application
  • Experience with material selection, heat treatment, and surface finish specifications
  • Working knowledge of Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly principles
  • 3D CAD experience required (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM or other document control systems a plus
  • Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities
  • Experience troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving methodology
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • High level of accountability and adaptability Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred

From $80,000.00 per year
