Job Description:
TES (Thermal Energy Storage) Mechanical Engineer ? We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on TES (Thermal Energy Storage) System Engineer to help transform our existing TES units into a fully integrated steam-producing system. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and mechanical engineering, with experience in sizing and selecting equipment such as heat exchangers, sensors, and steam generation systems. The role requires someone who can work both independently and collaboratively to design and implement system upgrades, ensuring efficient integration of new components into the current infrastructure. Outcomes Lead design of large scale thermo-chemical energy storage system Leverage learnings from existing unit to help assemble the larger unit Test and qualify the large scale unit for commercial deployment Competencies Energy, Drive, and Speed Superior inter-personal skills: Ability to act as a team player in a cohesive team, constructively seek and provide critique Constant willingness to learn and improve Responsibilities Lead testing, scaling and efficiency improvement of energy storage units Lead planning for manufacturing multiple commercial units Manage various contractors and vendors during assembly and testing Work in a driven, collaborative team with a large amount of autonomy and ownership. Qualifications The ability to move fast and the knack for getting things done is absolutely necessary. An innovative mindset with prior experience in design, assembly and running pilot or commercial 1- 10MW thermal, chemical or related processes is preferred. Machining, welding, electrical experience is preferred but not necessary. 5+ experience in the Chemical or Manufacturing industry is preferred.
