Job Description
A Sr. ILI Mechanical Engineer responsible for managing and providing engineering leadership for the design of ILI upgrades including scoping, location selection, and design of pigging upgrades to client systems. Qualified individuals will have a strong technical foundation in ILI and pipeline design, materials selection, management skills, and proven client management capabilities. This individual is expected to build client trust.
Required:
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline from an ABET accredited college or university. 7+ years of experience in gas pipeline related design. 4+ years of experience minimum in ILI Launcher and Receiver Design. Experience in managing, planning, executing pipeline/ILI engineering projects from scope development through construction and as-builts. Must be detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and able to effectively multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent time management and prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met while providing accurate deliverables. Must have demonstrated excellent human relations, influencing, communications and listening skills to deal effectively with all levels of clients, employees and management. Extensive technical knowledge of industry codes and standards including ASME/ANSI/API/NFPA/CSA
codes (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, 49 CFR 192, 193 & 195
), and NFPA 59A.
Project Management experience on small to medium projects Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship. Preferred:
Basic proficiency using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. Professional Engineer (PE) certification or ability to obtain PE certification within one year. Experience working as a consulting engineer and/or in a seconded role. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Design Launcher and Receiver stations which include launcher/receiver barrels and associated piping Design pipeline replacements for make piggable projects Support efforts for permitting, license acquisition, and land rights associated with the project. Assist in preparing Request for Proposal responses as needed. Coach and mentor others on engineering principles. Perform project management and be able to effectively communicate project management principles to ancillary project managers. Design hydrostatic tests for natural gas pipelines and stations to establish the MAOP of the infrastructure. Develop pipe and equipment specifications and perform required sizing calculations. Prepare or direct the preparation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), piping drawings, isometric fabrication drawings, bill of materials, and general arrangement drawings. Generate weld procedures for launcher and receiver installation projects from existing lists Work with civil team to generate site-improvement plans for launcher/receiver sites Work with electrical team to generate grounding plans for launcher/receiver sites Design clearances for installation of launcher/receiver fabrications Work with fabrication to generate prefabricated barrel assemblies Plan and coordinate all aspects of project with client Understanding of the "Mega Rule" requirements and experience with compliance methods. Pay:
