Job Title:
Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative engineering team. This role involves developing, maintaining, and executing testing procedures to ensure automation equipment meets the highest standards of quality and reliability. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, QA, and development teams to deliver robust and timely automation solutions that support manufacturing excellence. You will play a critical role in enhancing the sacred experience of communion by contributing to the design, production, and distribution of high-quality, pre-filled communion cups for faith communities worldwide. Responsibilities Spend 60% of your time behind a CAD desk supporting 2D and 3D design. Allocate 30% of your time to testing manufacturing equipment. Dedicate 10% of your time to providing production assistance. Develop and execute testing procedures to ensure equipment reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver timely automation solutions. Essential Skills 3 to 10 years of machine mechanical design experience. Proficiency in mechanical design and engineering using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software. Basic understanding of manufacturing and electrical schematics, particularly in heavy conveyor or robotics environments. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact across multiple departments. Experience with 3D modeling design utilizing materials like steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and sheet metal. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in pneumatic and electrical systems testing is advantageous. Experience in CNC/machining manufacturing is a plus. Work Environment Join a team of 65 to 70 employees working onsite. The position is full-time onsite Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM EST. You will work cross-functionally with a six-member Engineering Department and a five-member Production Department on in-house projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brownsburg, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $48.08/hr.
