Job Description

Purpose:
This position will participate in research and design activities that develop or improve products, components, technologies, or processes. Utilizes mathematical and scientific frameworks to compile and analyze data. Documents research and development methodologies and ensures adherence to scientific, engineering, and industry standards
Roles and Responsibilities:
Fabricate, assemble, and trouble-shoot prototypes and mechanical or 12 volt electrical systems. Perform maintenance and set-up on testing equipment. Work with service department to troubleshoot frame issues at OEMs and on structural frame repairs. Ability to work from engineering drawings, schematics and written or verbal instructions. Provide material selection, machining process, and design improvement suggestions to designers. Operate a variety of shop tools including manual mills, lathes, grinders, welders to support prototype builds. Work effectively and supportively in a team environment while being able to work independently with minimal oversight.
Requirements:
3+ years working as a technician in a related field. Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documents. Ability to independently build or fabricate engineering test parts based on engineering drawings. Familiarity with steel fabrication and steel fabrication equipment. Knowledge of system security measures, including endpoint security, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems Proficiency in Solidworks, Microsoft Office and test reporting and documentation. PLC programming preferred but not required. Operate a variety of shop tools including manual mills, lathes, grinders, welders to support prototype builds. Basic machining and welding experience. Electrical and plc wiring experience. Ability to work with customers and suppliers on electrical and mechanical product troubleshooting. RV experience. Hydraulics knowledge.
