Job Description

Mechanical HVAC Engineer responsible for HVAC system design, thermal load analysis, mechanical calculations, model coordination, site inspections, and technical documentation for industrial and commercial facilities. Job Requirements Minimum of 4 years of mechanical system engineering experience Experience drafting HVAC layouts and technical specifications for industrial and commercial facilities Experience performing thermal load calculations using Trace or similar industry software Experience sizing mechanical equipment and calculating airflow distribution and piping networks Experience performing site inspections to document existing infrastructure Experience preparing engineering calculations and technical reports High level of proficiency with Revit for modeling and design Experience coordinating mechanical systems with other trades in a multi-discipline environment Experience using Navisworks for model coordination and clash detection Experience supporting projects through design and installation phases Preferred Skills Experience designing for large-scale manufacturing environments Experience designing for corporate facilities Experience working for an engineering consulting firm Experience with educational facility projects Experience with large-scale hospitality projects Experience coordinating with fabrication and installation teams Experience integrating supplier equipment into custom project designs Experience refining design approaches during early and advanced project phases Job Responsibilities Draft HVAC layouts and technical specifications for industrial and commercial facilities Execute thermal load simulations using Trace or comparable software Determine mechanical equipment selections based on system requirements Calculate dimensions for airflow distribution systems and liquid piping networks Consult with suppliers to integrate specialized equipment into project designs Perform on-site inspections to document existing facility conditions Support engineering plans using field-verified infrastructure data Refine mechanical design methods during initial and advanced project development stages Prepare, review, and validate engineering calculations Author detailed technical reports Coordinate mechanical models with other trades using Revit and Navisworks Identify and resolve spatial conflicts during model coordination Communicate with fabrication and installation teams to maintain design intent through project completion
