Electro-Mechanical Engineer Job Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Wichita, KS, for an Electro-Mechanical/Systems Engineer. The position entails providing operational engineering support for existing capabilities, evaluating and analyzing design and operating specifications, and supporting new product development. The engineer will be involved in process improvement, reverse-engineering projects, and maintaining high-quality standards in compliance with industry regulations. Responsibilities Provide operational engineering support for existing capabilities. Evaluate and analyze design and operating specifications, component maintenance manuals, and other technical data for new product development. Improve and optimize existing processes and test capabilities, including design, development, construction, modification, modernization, and sustainment of test equipment. Support reverse-engineering projects and develop methods and tooling equivalencies. Evaluate and approve engineering drawings, bills of materials, procedures, and technical reports. Maintain strong technical collaboration with Operations, Quality, Sales, and Engineering leadership. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards while driving innovation and maintaining high quality. Essential Skills Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering or a related field from a four-year college or university. Experience in the assembly, disassembly, and testing of Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electromechanical components. At least 3 years of experience in a regulated industry such as aerospace and defense. Knowledge of FAA certification processes. Experience with LabView and Solidworks. Experience in a Manufacturing Engineering or Liaison Engineering function. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Electro-Magnetic Motors & Windings is a plus. Proven team player with excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Well-developed problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to be self-directed and relate effectively to all levels of an organization. Hands-on individual with the ability to see the big picture. Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines. Ambitious and flexible individual who wants to learn and grow professionally. Work Environment This role is based at a premier repair and overhaul facility in Wichita, Kansas, specializing in starter generators, fuel systems, and boost pumps. The facility is certified as a Class I, II, and III repair station with an Unlimited Rating from the FAA. The work environment includes working with experienced technicians dedicated to minimizing aircraft downtime, providing responsive and personalized service, and maintaining a large inventory of components for quick shipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $58.00/hr.
