Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer Job Description This role is a hands-on Mechanical Engineer position focused on designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for motors and related electromechanical systems. The engineer owns the full lifecycle of mechanical design, from initial modeling and stress analysis through material and finish selection, tolerance development, reliability work, qualification support, and sustaining engineering. The position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical design fundamentals, experience in rotating or electromechanical products, and a proven ability to work in high-reliability environments while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities + Design and model mechanical components and assemblies for motors, actuators, geartrains, housings, shafts, interfaces, and related electromechanical hardware. + Create and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, tolerance schemes, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and complete drawing packages. + Perform material selection and finish selection to support robust, manufacturable mechanical designs. + Conduct structural stress analysis and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability. + Select mechanical components for reliability, integration, and ease of manufacturing and assembly. + Support the design of motor mechanical systems with a strong emphasis on durability, manufacturability, assembly, reliability, and system integration. + Contribute to the design of geartrains, shafting, bearing systems, housings, interfaces, sealing approaches, and associated hardware. + Participate in lubrication selection, failure mode and effects analysis ( FMEA ), mean time between failures ( MTBF ) and reliability analyses, and design improvement initiatives. + Participate in prototype builds and provide hands-on support during assembly and test activities. + Support qualification testing and environmental testing to validate design performance under demanding operating conditions. + Assist in root-cause investigations to identify and resolve technical issues and drive corrective actions. + Coordinate directly with customers, manufacturing, quality, test, and other engineering teams to resolve technical issues and advance design maturity. + Support pilot builds and transition products from development into production, including sustaining engineering and product improvement efforts. + Collaborate To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
