Posting Reference Location Baton Rouge, LA, USA Type Full Time Job Category Operations Apply for this Job EthosEnergy is recruiting for a Senior Plant Engineer for supporting power generation at Louisiana Station, a co-generation facility in Baton Rouge, LA. that provided steam and power to ExxonMobil refinery. The candidate will have engineering responsibility for site mechanical systems, including: fuel gas, boiler combustion, gas turbines, steam turbines, and associated auxiliary equipment. The candidate will also support engineering activities for pumps, fans, compressors, and other rotating equipment. The candidate will review and assess system conditions and work with Plant Operations to optimize efficiencies and reliability of these mechanical assets at the facility. The candidate will also support Plant Maintenance in developing preventive and proactive maintenance plans for equipment, as well as troubleshooting equipment challenges when they arise. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing improvement projects as part of a strategic, long-term project plan for these mechanical assets at the facility. Job Responsibilities Review mechanical performance of turbomachinery and other mechanical systems/equipment to ensure operating conditions are achieved to optimize process reliability and efficiency Facilitate preventive and proactive maintenance activities on equipment to ensure reliable operations Facilitate inspections and assessments of gas turbines, steam turbines, boilers, heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, and other assets to ensure mechanical integrity Manage and/or support long-term strategic project plan for mechanical systems at the facility Manage and/or support reliability-focused programs for the site, including vibration, lubrication, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Management of Change, and others Perform Project Management responsibilities including but not limited to: o Developing project scopes and objectives, o Developing project justifications, o Creating budgets and spend forecasts, o Tracking costs, o Managing relationships with 3rd parties, including purchasing/procurement processes, work execution, and site activities Regularly review and update piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and specifications documentation Required Skills / Knowledge Utilize and be proficient with Microsoft Office software applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Utilize and be proficient with PI ProcessBook and other data management and analysis systems Utilize and be proficient with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) Work closely with personnel from different departments on cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, identify improvement opportunities, and realize solutions
  • must be a good communicator and thrive in a team environment Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time Experience Minimum 8 years of experience with industrial mechanical systems Previous experience with fuel gas and combustion processes Previous experience with turbomachinery
  • specifically gas turbines and steam turbines; specific experience on Siemens 501D and GE 7FA technology is preferred Previous experience with pumps, valves, piping and heat exchangers
  • specifically performing mass-flow balance and thermal performance modeling Previous experience performing mechanical performance and mechanical integrity assessments Basic technical understanding and competence in the areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and mechanical machinery dynamics Education Requirements Minimum education of Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • or equivalent technical field
