This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys mechanical design, system integration, and supporting field operations within an industrial/energy environment. The position is on‑site in Lafayette and will include travel annually to support job sites and operational projects. Key Responsibilities Design, analyze, and support the installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems used in frac‑chem operations. Develop detailed mechanical drawings, layouts, and specifications using SolidWorks and other CAD tools. Support mechanical systems that interface with automation and control logic, with an understanding of program logic and industrial system design (preferably Studio 5000). Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including operations, automation, manufacturing, and project management. Conduct performance testing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to improve reliability and uptime. Provide technical support during equipment commissioning, startup, and field deployment. Ensure compliance with company safety standards and applicable industry codes (ASME, API, ASTM). Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, and mechanical reliability. Travel to job sites as needed (approximately 10-20% per year). Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 2 or more years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in chemical, manufacturing, industrial, or energy-related environments. Based in Lafayette or the surrounding areas, and able to work onsite. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in SolidWorks (AutoCAD experience a plus). Working knowledge or exposure to program logic and system design, preferably using Studio 5000. Proficient or familiar with a SCADA/industrial automation platform used to monitor, control, and visualize industrial processes. Familiarity with ASME, API, ASTM, or similar industry standards. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Ability to collaborate across disciplines and manage priorities under tight timelines. Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations is a plus.
