Mechanical Design Engineer Bedford, MA
FORMULATRIX
®, a world leader in robotic automation for life science and pharmaceutical research, is seeking ambitious junior to mid-level mechanical design engineers to join our team at our Bedford site. To solve the types of problems we face, we are looking for hard-working individuals who are organized, analytical, and have a knack for troubleshooting. Ideal candidates are interested in continuous learning and development, not only in design engineering but in all of the other aspects of bringing a product from idea to commercial launch. This position offers a great deal of flexibility for a mechanical engineer. We have a full suite of equipment for in-house prototyping, including a CNC machine, laser cutter, Bridgeport mill, lathe, electronic workstations, and 3D printers. Having this equipment capabilities in-house provides the ability to rapidly ideate, fabricate, and test ideas as we progress through the trial-and-error iterations of the design process. Your job will consist of testing new designs, suggesting design improvements, and doing hands-on troubleshooting. You will provide feedback to and work with our off-shore colleagues, craft prototypes, and assist the product manager with customer or engineering issues. This position requires a team player with a can-do attitude. While your work will be individual, ongoing team communication and problem-solving are key.
