Group Manager

  • Mechanical & Propulsion Position Overview At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Group Manager
  • Mechanical & Propulsion to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Responsibilities
  • Leading the technical definition and maturation of the company's capabilities and methods within mechanical systems.
  • Coaching, counseling, mentoring, and identifying developmental opportunities and job assignments for direct reports within the mechanical systems group.
  • Providing on-going developmental feedback and technical direction to ensure execution of business objectives.
  • Supporting development and implementation of policies, procedures and documents to ensure consistent execution of processes within the group.
  • Leading the design, analysis, test and integration of mechanical systems, including but not limited to flight control mechanisms, landing gear, nose wheel steering, brakes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, environmental control systems, launch and recovery equipment, and ground support equipment.
  • Supporting all aspects of the engineering development process, from conceptual design through production. Minimum Requirements
  • -Must be a US Person and able and willing to obtain security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 8+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong performance in the design and aerospace systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across other disciplines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to positively motivate others are essential attributes. Preferred Requirements
  • 12+ years experience in the design and development of aerospace systems.
  • Previous leadership experience as a functional manager.
  • Active security clearance Physical Requirements
  • Role is full-time, on-site at Aurora's Massachusetts or Virginia facilities.
  • Ability to support occasional travel averaging around 10%.
Salary Range (Annualized USD)
Minimum Range:
$122,000.00 to $217,000.00
Maximum Range:
