Job Description

Smart Connected Ventures (ScentBridge/BlueStreak IoT) - South Deerfield, MA Our company is a successful pioneer of "AI-IOT" solutions: internet-of-things products using AI to achieve perfected services through connected products. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations, new product development, and continuous improvement. This position will play a key role in optimizing processes, supporting electro-mechanical product design, and improving operational productivity. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally between engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams. Responsibilities Support the design, development, and validation of electro-mechanical products and assemblies Analyze production and quality data to identify trends and opportunities for process and product improvement Assist with fixture, tooling, and test equipment design and implementation Troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly issues and implement corrective actions Manage and maintain manufacturing documentation including SOPs, bills of material (BOMs), work instructions, process flows, and assembly procedures Participate in new product introduction (NPI) and transition from prototype to production Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, throughput, efficiency, yield, and waste reduction Design and execute scientific experiments and Design of Experiments (DOE) to improve product quality, manufacturability, and process capability Support supplier and component evaluations, cost reduction projects, and material improvement initiatives Collaborate with operations, purchasing, quality, and production teams to improve manufacturing performance Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and root cause analysis activities Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or related field Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing processes Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies Familiarity with BOM management, configuration control, and engineering documentation preferred Knowledge of DOE or statistical analysis preferred Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems preferred CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) preferred 1+ year of engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred (internships count!)
