Job Description:
Mechanical Design Engineer Seeking an experienced design engineer to support the design and development of mechanical systems and products from concept through production. The ideal candidate has solid hands-on design experience, can work independently on moderately complex projects, and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to bring products from concept through production. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, and basic structural calculations where required Support prototype builds, testing, and design iterations Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective Conduct design reviews, both internal and external, and incorporate feedback from senior engineers and customers Assist with troubleshooting design, manufacturing or field issues Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, and safety requirements Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices Support Sales with application engineering tasks, including site visits for requirements gathering, and estimation of engineering effort required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) 3-6 years of experience in mechanical design and product development Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks CAD Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and mechanical systems Demonstrated experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis Proven ability to take designs from concept to production Ability to read & interpret schematics and identify/verify From-To connections Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Highly organized, with great attention to detail Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications Experience in regulated industries (aerospace preferred) Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing and production support Experience working with external suppliers and contract manufacturers Basic understanding of ERP systems Prior experience working with test stations/automated test equipment (ATE)
