Job Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer Overview We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of complex electromechanical products from initial concept through production launch. This role owns the full product development lifecycle and is ideal for an engineer who thrives in hands‑on design, cross‑functional collaboration, and technical leadership. You'll design mechanisms, structures, fixtures, and full machine or system‑level solutions while balancing performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule across multiple concurrent projects. Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical design and development from concept, research, and prototyping through verification, validation, and production release . Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs using GD&T best practices . Perform and interpret FEA to validate structural, thermal, and mechanical performance. Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), reliability, and cost optimization across appropriate manufacturing processes. Plan and execute verification and validation testing , including test fixture design, data acquisition, analysis, and documentation. Collaborate closely with electrical, firmware, and software engineers to define mechanical interfaces and system architecture. Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, and service teams to define requirements, develop specifications, and resolve design trade‑offs. Work directly with vendors and suppliers on component selection, fabrication, and integration. Generate and manage ECOs and engineering change documentation . Identify technical risks and proactively drive mitigation strategies throughout development. Mentor and coach junior engineers , promoting strong mechanical design standards and engineering best practices. Required Skills & Expertise Strong foundation in mechanical design and product development Proficiency with SolidWorks and FEA tools Experience in machine and mechanism design , including structures, kinematics, drives, sensors, and component packaging Thorough understanding of GD&T, mechanical drawings, BOMs, and change management Knowledge of manufacturing processes including: Machining Sheet metal Casting Injection molding Additive manufacturing (3D printing) Assembly methods Proven application of DFM and Design‑to‑Cost principles Hands‑on experience with design verification, testing, data analysis, and reporting Ability to generate innovative design solutions based on customer requirements, feedback, and real‑world constraints Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching complex electromechanical products Working knowledge of electrical, firmware, and software disciplines sufficient for cross‑functional collaboration Experience working within a formal product development or stage‑gate process Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and collaboration skills Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide less‑experienced engineers Work Environment Onsite R D engineering environment supporting premier product lines Focus on low‑force, high‑precision applications Team of 40+ engineers , offering strong collaboration, mentorship, and growth opportunities Why This Role?
