We are looking for a R D Engineer II to join our R D team in West Bridgewater, MA.
Position Summary:
The R D II Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Program Manager through the direction of catheter manufacturing activities. The R D Engineer primary activities drive catheter development and commercialization of new products, line extensions and process improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Equipment o Equipment & tooling concept design, development and qualification This includes: Equipment debugging, Screening parameter search studies Equipment & Fixture Improvements Equipment Critical Process Input Parameter definitions Process o Process development, characterization and qualifications This includes: Manufacturing Line Layout, in process component/material logistics Ensure that resource utilization is optimized based on skill set and production demands Monitor and measure manufacturing process outputs, including yields and operation takt times. Process Optimization prior to Qualification Drive
IQ/OQ/PQ
through completion. Documentation o Manufacturing Documentation development, refinement and release.
This includes:
New Process Flowcharts, MFG SOPs, MVP In Process Control strategies, PFMEA Manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures & Training of operations personnel Traveler development, Bill of Materials development Transition of manufacturing lines from Engineering to Manufacturing Operations. Support Catheter development through feedback Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency improvements and mistake-proofing using lean methods. Component inspections Support on-going manufacturing operations Including troubleshooting of issues arising during production, assisting with root cause identification and implementation of corrective action(s) Other duties may be assigned, as needed and applicable to an individual's skill-set Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise other AMEs or Associate AMEs, Technicians informally/directly on projects Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree from a college or university; with 4-6 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, engineering drawings and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical capability. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software; Design software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Experience with SolidWorks and CAD applications preferred.
