Job Description

Engineering Technician -
Components Location:
Woburn, MA Overview We are seeking an Engineering Technician - Components to support new product development of advanced thermal management components used in high‑performance and mission‑critical applications. These systems support industries including defense, commercial aerospace, laser systems, medical imaging (X‑ray, MRI), data centers, traction systems, and semiconductor equipment . This is a hands‑on, lab‑focused role where you will test, assemble, and validate both prototype and production components to ensure they meet demanding performance, reliability, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate is a motivated self‑starter with strong electrical and mechanical aptitude , excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Test prototype and production components and assemblies to verify performance and compliance with customer and engineering specifications, including: Cooling capacity Fluid flow and pressure drop Shock and vibration Noise levels Control system performance Design and build custom test fixtures, equipment, and setups to support component testing Execute testing and assembly tasks using verbal and written instructions , technical manuals, engineering specifications, electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, and engineering drawings Utilize a wide range of test and measurement equipment to diagnose product defects and identify root causes of performance issues Support engineering efforts by: Writing test procedures Executing test plans Interpreting test data Preparing clear, detailed test reports Maintain ownership of engineering lab equipment , including: Supporting a 6S program Coordinating preventive maintenance Ensuring calibration schedules are met Calibrate and maintain instrumentation such as: Pressure gauges and transducers Thermocouples Flow meters Data acquisition hardware Assemble hydraulic and thermal management components, including: Soldering and brazing Wiring and plumbing of test fixtures Integration of vacuum pumps and refrigeration systems Collaborate effectively with engineering, drafting, manufacturing, service teams, and external vendors Document results, maintain logs, and create procedures using Microsoft Excel and Word Safely handle and move equipment and components, including lifting up to 50 lbs Required Qualifications Approximately 5 years of hands‑on experience in assembly, systems testing, or engineering technician roles in a lab or manufacturing environment Strong electrical and mechanical skills , particularly with electro‑mechanical systems Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams Proficiency with standard hand tools and precision measuring equipment Experience assembling hydraulic components , including soldering and brazing Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical manuals Experience working with test equipment and data acquisition systems Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving product defects Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and reporting Clear verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills Experience with soldering and brazing in lab or production environments Familiarity with SolidWorks for reviewing mechanical designs Experience with LabVIEW for test automation and data acquisition Hands‑on experience with: Plumbing fixtures Vacuum pumps Refrigeration systems Thermal management hardware Exposure to PLCs and control systems Experience working within 6S or continuous improvement programs Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing lab equipment, calibration records, and documentation Proven ability to interface professionally with internal teams and external suppliers Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Woburn, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
