Organize, schedule, and coordine mechanical system repairs, construction, and installion projects for the MTF. Investige, analyze, and resolve design problems and construction. Provide engineering and technical assistance to resolve critical system or equipment failures of building systems equipment and subsystems. Test, evalue, and maintain Heing, Ventilion, and Air conditioning (HVAC), fire protection system, hot and cold domestic wer distribution system, heing and chilled wer distribution system, medical gas, cooling towers, and refrigerion. Consider project safety feures, demands made on existing electrical, wer, and other utility systems, and effect of he, cold, moisture, and other mospheric conditions on opering components of equipment. Furnish technical guidance to MTF officials, engineer shop personnel, and staff personnel of other agencies of specialized engineering problems based on experience with problems involved in research and development support. Degree:

Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in a school of engineering with least one program accredited by the Accredition Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); OR (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) stics, dynamics; (b) strength of merials (stress-strain relionships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nure and properties of merials (reling particle and aggrege structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, he transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. One year of specialized experience which includes: designing, evaluing, renoving, and installing mechanical systems within a medical trement facility and/or other facilities with stringent environmental and operional requirements; investiging and resolving design and operional problems in critical mechanical systems; preparing technical specificions, stements of work, and cost estimes for the installion, repair, or alterion of major mechanical systems and/or infrastructure projects; and ensuring compliance with specialized health and safety codes.
