Job Description:
The Senior Electrical Parts & Components Engineer shall serve as a subject matter expert in the selection, application, procurement, and control of spaceflight‑quality Electrical, Electronic, Electro‑Mechanical, and Electro‑Optical (EEEE) parts. The candidate will interface with design engineers, commodity specialists, quality organizations, and vendor personnel to identify compliant EEEE parts and resolve technical, quality, and reliability issues. The engineer will chair Project Parts Control Board (PCB) meetings, review and approve project Parts Lists (PLs) for compliance with NASA GSFC and project‑specific requirements and participate in Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and anomaly resolution activities. Responsibilities include defining procurement and screening requirements, reviewing supplier documentation, and verifying post‑procurement evaluation prior to acceptance and stocking. The role includes management of flight and non‑flight EEEE kitting and delivery in support of project builds. The engineer will develop and review screening, Lot Acceptance Testing (LAT), and Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) results and provide clear, concise technical synopses to support lot disposition decisions. The candidate will support technical planning, cost and schedule reporting, and provide authoritative EEEE risk assessments and recommendations to project and branch management.
