Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer Job Description Our Mechanical Engineers are at the forefront of innovation, researching, designing, developing, testing, certifying, deploying, and improving cutting-edge products and services. These range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft and orbital and space exploration systems. You will conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems, with technical duties including the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities Research, design, and develop new mechanical products and systems. Test and certify products to meet industry standards. Deploy and improve existing products and services. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design and development teams. Conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems. Essential Skills Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, specificallyCATIA V5/V6.
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams. Capability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry. Experience with Commercial Derivative Aircraft. Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) perASME Y14.5.
Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Thermal Analysis. Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes. Work Environment The role involves frequently walking, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs. It requires repetitive hand, arm, and finger motions. There is rare exposure to outdoor elements, fumes, hazardous materials, and loud noises. You will be part of a Mechanical Engineering Team, which is expected to grow significantly. The environment is supportive of innovation and teamwork, providing opportunities to work on exciting programs such as the modification of Bombardier aircraft for defense purposes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hagerstown, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $51.74 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
