Job Description
job summary: We are searching for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Westminster, MD to support new product development work for an industry leading aerospace manufacturing company. Candidates must have a BS in Engineering and experience with composites. This role has a 9/80 work schedule. This is a contract position that is expected to lead to a direct-hire role.
Develop conceptual designs into a mature product solution.
Develop engineering standards and design guides to support continuous improvement of the relevant engineering domain.
Work to Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) principles including careful management of Critical to Quality requirements through the design lifecycle, rigorous knowledge building of the design space, understanding of the effects of manufacturing variation, and design for manufacturing and assembly to meet product recurring cost targets.
