Nyle has been manufacturing and supporting commercial heat pump water heaters for decades and has a 45 year history in the development of commercial heat pump technologies in Bangor, Maine. We provide unparalleled life cycle support of our products whether that be design and installation or ongoing end user support while providing an ever-evolving pipeline of product innovations to serve existing and emerging markets as we transition from building level fossil fuels like natural gas. Role Description This is a full-time in office role for an Applications Engineer at Nyle Water Heating Systems and will be responsible for tasks related to applications development, technical sales support, and equipment startup.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Size and develop applications for heat pump and heat recovery technologies in target markets for NWHS branded sales channel and various OEM partners. Verify continuity of existing designs through out the sales process to ensure adherence to NWHS design requirements to limit installation errors and equipment misapplication. Startup commercial heat pump water heaters and provide contractor guidance throughout the installation process Assist with customer factory visits to aid in technical training for NWHS products. Travel (up to 30%) for startups, customer trainings, and company events. Customer Provide timely responses to customers Answer questions related to product specifications. Consult with customers and engineers to develop detailed recommendations and integration plans by phone, email, and/or video conference. Develop quotes for customers after approval of system design and equipment selection. Review purchase orders and design documents and return an aligned presale authorization for signature, working with the sales team to ensure prompt turnaround of presale documentation and approval to move to a sales order and production planning. Continuous Improvement Interface with the marketing and product management teams to keep product literature up to date. Evaluate internal processes and communicate opportunities to improve throughput, quality, and/or consistency. Work with your manager, other team members and external resources to develop a sound understanding of refrigeration, systems engineering, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, controls, sales, and many other skills that are pertinent to your development into a uniquely positioned industry expert. Be open to new cross functional responsibilities as opportunities to grow and learn, but communicate when you are uncomfortable or exceeding your capacity to support core functions. Transparency is key. Qualifications Technical Support and Testing skills Experience with hand tools and electrical testing. Strong problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with a remote team Experience with Commercial HVAC, Commercial Plumbing, and/or Heat pumps a plus Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
