Job Description

Compounding Solutions is a leading manufacturer of compounded custom thermoplastic materials, primarily supporting the medical device industry. The materials we produce save and improve the quality of people's lives. For over 20 years, Compounding Solutions has sustained consistent growth by focusing on continuous improvement, investing in R&D and innovative technologies, maintaining a robust quality management system, and offering outstanding customer service. We seek a highly motivated engineer or scientist to support the rapid growth of our R&D capacity. You will work in an office/laboratory setting to assist in the day to day activities. There is no sponsorship for this position.
Responsibilities:
Assisting the R&D department in formulation development by producing small scale trial batches and test specimens Characterizing physical properties of polymers utilizing techniques such as rheology FTIR spectroscopy, DSC, and mechanical testing (tensile, flex, coefficient of friction, impact, harness, etc.) Organizing and presenting data to a team of engineers and scientists Effectively communicating key findings Ensuring sampling and testing are completed as scheduled in long term experiments
Requirements:
B.S. or higher in Materials Science/Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry Familiarity with lab setting and operating analytical instruments Attention to detail and validity of measurements Understanding of scientific methods, proper documentation, statistical analysis, & experimental design Knowledge of polymer science, processing, and characterization is a plus but not required
