Full-Time Position Overview A leading automotive organization is seeking a Control Tower Engineer to join the Control Tower & Field Quality team based at its headquarters and technical center in Auburn Hills, MI. This role is responsible for identifying, creating, and triaging warranty-related issues while working closely with engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing, and service teams to analyze parts and vehicles and drive resolution efforts for customers. Opportunities are available within the Vehicle Engineering (VEHE) Control Tower Chassis team, including systems related to wheels, tires, brakes, suspension, and steering. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in advancing quality initiatives and helping shape the future of the automotive industry. Key Responsibilities Lead identification of warranty-related issues through part analysis and vehicle evaluations Perform initial problem-solving activities, validate clean points, and identify responsible functional areas Develop and recommend triage actions based on data analysis and physical findings for downstream resolution teams Support governance and tracking of warranty issues throughout the full lifecycle Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing, and service teams Analyze components and vehicle systems to support issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering Strong written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills Broad automotive systems knowledge and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university Shainin RedX Black Belt certification Green Belt and/or Kepner-Tregoe training Design for Six Sigma experience Project management experience Working knowledge of TeamCenter and Palantir Understanding of GD&T and detailed engineering drawings 2+ years of experience in testing, validation, or test method development, including: Fixture design Instrumentation Data acquisition Validation processes
