This role is responsible for design development, testing, and supervision of engineering projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements. Professional Engineers apply scientific and mathematical principles to solve technical problems across various industries such as civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, industrial, and environmental engineering. All Knight Global employees are responsible for the implementation of company quality policies and the achievement of our quality objectives.
Core duties:
Collaborate with engineers / designers. Analyze engineering drawing(s) (single details to complete designs) structural steel and fixture designs. Prepare technical reports. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Identify and resolve internal technical issues and risks. Provide Certification of designs and serve as Engineer of Record Supporting duties when required: Provide technical assistance manufacturing personnel during assembly.
Travel Requirements:
Driver's license (enhanced), credit card, Passport, Performing off-site tasks but is not prevalent (including outside of the continental US) which are field measurements and technical supervision. Required skills, experience, and training/education: Bachelor's degree in engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license /certification (State of Michigan as a minimum) Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical design ~ utilizing a 3D program ~ SolidWorks, Catia, NX and 2D AutoCAD. 3D modeling and drafting Knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and Excel preferred. Knowledge of ergonomic lift systems or material handling functions and capabilities preferred. Experience in the following areas preferred: FEA, overhead rail and steel layout placement, concrete, and shop related experiences with welding and machining.
