Job Description

At Trident Maritime Systems - Heavy Equipment Group, we don't just build systems-we build careers. We are seeking a Project Engineer to work on-site at our Kingsford, MI location. The Project Engineer will design, develop and technical management of assigned engineering projects.
MAJOR DUTIES
Responsible for interpretation of and compliance with customer purchase specifications.

Develop design or design concept and product specifications within cost and budget goals.

Coordinate project and design engineer's efforts, based on budget and schedule, when assigned lead engineering responsibility.

Make or oversee preparation of layout drawings.

Perform calculations.

Prepare detail and assembly drawings when drafting assistance is unavailable.

Confer with engineering management on problems encountered and questions arising on project.

Develop requirements for and specify purchased components.

Communicate with other LSSI operations on project requirements.

Prepare proposals with estimated engineering effort from customer specifications and to marketing requirements.

Participate in design reviews and other assigned activities.

Direct checking of all drawings prepared for use on project.

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S.M.E. or B.S.E.E or Relevant Equivalent Experience.5 years of mechanical, electrical or hydraulic design of powered equipmentMust be able to travel between plant locations and to customer sites based on project needs; short notice travel may be required.
