Job description Wartech Engineering is a fast-paced, quickly growing small business defense contractor ready to welcome a Mechanical Engineer to our team of innovative, experienced engineers. We are growing quickly, and are expanding in both sq ft and staff size while we relocate our facility, moving from Romulus to Livonia. Your collaborative attitude and attention to detail will help you succeed as an Engineer at Wartech. Mechanical Engineer must have the proven ability to generate conceptual designs in response to complex performance specifications, analytically validate those conceptual designs using modern Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software and present the results of those efforts in a clear and concise manner via technical presentations and reports to Wartech's customers. Responsibilities Apply advanced engineering techniques while working in a team environment Compose trade studies Conceptualize, model, and draft solutions Successfully use FEMAP, Nastran, Creo, and Windchill on a daily basis Job Skills Hands-on application of technical analysis and engineering skills including FEMAP, Nastran, Creo, and other engineering software packages. Practical hands-on experience and the ability to translate that experience into reliable design intuition and interpretation of analysis results critical to supporting Wartech's customers. Strong Mechanical Engineering skills Strong organizational skills Exceptional communication skills Polished technical writing skills Strong understanding of hand calculations GD&T capability Fit and tolerance specification Ability to design machine elements Critical thinking skills Collaborative teamwork skills Solid time-management skills to meet deadlines

Nastran Windchill Job Requirements Must be a US Citizen or "US Person" in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) 5+ years of work experience in mechanical engineering using finite element analysis, solid modeling, and predictive analytical tools.
Education:
undergraduate degree in either mechanical or aerospace engineering. (Bachelor's Degree required; Master's or PhD-level graduate work or degree is preferred) Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint Preferred experience with a military or aerospace engineering environment, particularly in applying military standards and designing in compliance with military performance specifications. Ability to interact with customers directly in a presentation or technical reporting capacity. Experience with weldment design and calculation
