Job Description

Bartech Staffing is proud to partner with a global Automotive client who is accepting applications for a CW Functional ECU and Smart Security Design Engineer for a contractual opportunity in the Saline, MI area. In this role, you will contribute to the vision of building a North American electronics center of excellence , aligning with global engineering strategies and delivering high-quality, customer-focused vehicle systems. Reporting to the Vehicle Development Senior Manager , you will lead vehicle-level development activities, working cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers.
Hourly Rate Range:
$40 - $44 per hour (W2) Key Responsibilities Lead vehicle application development for FunctionalECUs, including: Power sliding door ECUs Power tailgate ECUs Seat, window, and sunroof ECUs Support development of Smart Security systems , including: Smart ECUs Immobilizer systems Antennas and related components Plan and design ECU systems by: Setting performance targets Evaluating packaging and styling feasibility Balancing cost, customer needs, and functionality Ensuring regulatory compliance Develop and release engineering specifications to suppliers and: Manage supplier timelines, performance, and quality Support issue resolution and continuous improvement Maintain and manage: Bill of materials (BOM) / part lists Internal engineering documentation Engineering change instructions (ECIs) Wiring specifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience) Minimum 5+ years of experience as an electrical design engineer Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Willingness to work up to 30% overtime as needed Preferred Qualifications Experience in vehicle electronics development Familiarity with CATIA or similar CAD tools No C2C Benefits As a CW Functional ECU and Smart Security Design Engineer with Bartech Staffing, you will be working through an established and respected staffing organization with over 40 years of serving as a trusted partner to our client companies.
