Job Title:
Engineer II Job Description The Engineer II role will empower us to enhance our technology and capabilities to better serve our customers. This position requires a detailed understanding of pilot and commercial equipment process design and operation for our full product line. Under the guidance of the Director of Engineering Implementation, you will be responsible for developing engineering documentation, selecting components, planning and executing pilot projects, and building skid/systems. Responsibilities Contribute to the development of new pilot and commercial equipment for organic contaminant removal and destruction, specifically targeting per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Develop necessary engineering documentation for equipment fabrication, such as Process Flow Drawings (PFD), Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID), General Arrangement drawings (GA), Bills of Materials (BOM), and similar. Collaborate closely with vendors to specify and select components and engage in build-to-spec processes. Plan and execute project plans for customer field pilots. Cross-train team members on basic equipment operation and troubleshooting tasks. Provide remote assistance and/or field support during pilots and system commissioning. Travel up to 30% for customer field pilots to validate the effectiveness of PFAS destruction systems on customer wastewater streams; may be required to work extended day or night shifts. Troubleshoot mechanical and engineering issues as they arise during customer field pilots. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or similar engineering. Minimum 4 years of industry experience. Experience in project management or project engineering roles involving the design and installation of capital systems. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technological issues at partner sites. Strong technical knowledge and a versatile skill set. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; experience in a customer-facing role is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with water treatment and wastewater systems. Proficiency in Solidworks and P&ID. Experience with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT). Knowledge of commissioning processes, including calibration, performance verification, and troubleshooting. Work Environment The work environment includes clean offices with a research and development lab. Travel is required for field pilots, and you may work extended shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $44.00/hr.
