In your role, you may work from the following Medtronic sites: Mounds View, Minnesota North Haven, Connecticut This role will require up to 50% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects. The Senior Equipment Engineer supports the advancement of equipment reliability and maintenance excellence across manufacturing operations. This role contributes to the implementation of best practice standards for equipment performance and maintenance strategies while helping deploy elements of the Enterprise Maintenance Excellence (MEx) roadmap as part of the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), leveraging Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles. The position provides technical expertise to improve equipment uptime, support resolution of complex equipment issues, and assist in implementing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies that support a zero‑loss, zero‑downtime mindset. In addition, the Senior Equipment Engineer partners closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and process engineering teams to support management of equipment assets and reliability initiatives. This role collaborates with internal subject matter experts and site teams to strengthen technical capabilities, participates in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving efforts, and builds strong cross‑functional relationships within a matrixed organization to support reliable, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations. Establishes best practice standards and principles for equipment requirements and maintenance. Deploys the Enterprise Maintenance Excellence (MEx) roadmap as part of the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), leveraging Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles. Provides technical expertise on equipment performance and reliability. Establishes programs and solutions to increase equipment uptime and resolve equipment issues impacting the manufacturing process, with a focus on a zero-loss and zero-downtime mindset. Provides technical support to manufacturing maintenance equipment teams and process engineering teams. Develops and deploys equipment and maintenance excellence initiatives by applying root cause analysis and advanced problem-solving methodologies across the enterprise. Defines and develops preventative and predictive maintenance strategies. Develops and motivates a highly talented, diverse engineering team responsible for the development and maintenance of the global equipment inventory. Partners with internal and external experts to maintain and strengthen engineering and technical expertise. Builds and nurtures cross-site and cross-functional relationships within a large, multi-site, matrixed organization. Understands and complies with company policies, procedures, and external standards and regulatory guidance. Generates innovative and unique solutions to complex engineering and organizational challenges.MUST HAVE
(Minimum Qualifications) 4+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 2+ years of experience with an advanced degreeNICE TO HAVE
(Preferred Qualifications) Bachelor degree preferred in mechanical, electrical, reliability engineering, equipment control or related discipline Degree with 4 years' relevant experience or advanced degree with 2 years relevant experience in equipment or maintenance engineering 4+ years relevant direct equipment or maintenance engineering experience Excellent team building, communications, and leadership skills. Experience in the application Total Performance Maintenance (TPM) CMRP or CRL certification For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
