Onsite Interview with team members and hiring manager Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled R D Software Engineer - Cybersecurity with strong proficiency in C++ and Python and a passion for improving the cybersecurity of medical devices. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across both application development and system-level security engineering in a regulated environment. The selected candidate will contribute to the development and security hardening of medical device software while collaborating closely with Systems Engineering, Product Security, and cross-functional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C++ and Python Implement secure coding practices and contribute to the hardening of medical devices against emerging cybersecurity threats Symmetric and asymmetric encryption Key pair generation and management X.509 certificate creation, signing, and validation Participate in code reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments Document system configurations, software designs, and security architecture Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Product Security, and other stakeholders to develop cybersecurity controls Requirements definition Functional design Implementation Code reviews Final release activities in accordance with medical device development processes Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of experience developing software using C++ and Python Experience with Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and secure programming practices Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles including confidentiality, integrity, and availability Ability to apply cybersecurity concepts to medical device software development Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels Preferred Qualifications Experience with the Qt application development framework Knowledge of Perl or Shell scripting Experience working in a Linux development environment Hands-on experience with OpenSSL , TLS, PKCS, and cryptographic protocols Familiarity with IEC 62304 and standards applicable to Class II and Class III medical devices Knowledge of FDA cybersecurity guidance Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, aerospace, automotive, or defense If you have additional questions, please contact
