$120,000 - $140,000 Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on designing and developing custom automation equipment for advanced manufacturing environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in building innovative solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams, and driving improvements in quality, efficiency, and production capacity . You will play a key role in taking concepts from idea through design, prototyping, and full-scale deployment. Key Responsibilities Engineering & Development Lead feasibility studies, cost analysis, and risk assessments for automation projects Design and develop custom machinery, tooling, and semi-automated equipment Perform hands-on prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and validation Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes (cycle time, cost, quality) Mechanical Design Develop detailed CAD models, drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks Design systems with a focus on manufacturability, reliability, and ease of use Select and integrate mechanical components (actuators, sensors, pneumatics, etc.) Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis principles Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with electrical, controls, and software teams for system integration Partner with manufacturing teams to understand challenges and implement solutions Support equipment installation, commissioning, and qualification Project Leadership Manage projects from concept through deployment Lead design reviews and technical discussions Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables Continuous Improvement Analyze process performance data using tools like Excel or Minitab Stay current with emerging technologies and automation trends Drive innovation and standardization across engineering processes Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 8+ years of experience in mechanical design or automation engineering Strong proficiency in SolidWorks Experience designing custom automated equipment or machinery Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and equipment validation Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Willingness to travel up to 15% Preferred Qualifications Experience with PTC Creo Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis Background in manufacturing or production environments Experience with SolidWorks PDM Experience in process development and equipment qualification Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Minitab Exposure to advanced or AI-driven automation technologies Why Join Us?
