Job Description
Position Responsibilities Include:
Apply electrical engineering knowledge to evaluate electrical and electronic components and identify alternate replacements for obsolete or at‑risk parts Perform proactive obsolescence forecasting and monitoring using component surveillance tools, predictive obsolescence systems, and OEM/supplier surveys Monitor GIDEP alerts and provide obsolescence status reporting to internal engineering teams and government customers Develop obsolescence mitigation options and perform business case analyses supporting recommended resolution paths Prepare and present technical material communicating DMSMS issues, risks, and proposed resolutions to customers and program stakeholders Support recurring DMSMS and obsolescence working group meetings with internal teams and external government and industry partners Assist in preparing customer contractual deliverable plans, documentation, and reports Support management of obsolescence mitigation activities within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) Collaborate with enterprise‑wide engineering and technology subject matter experts Apply understanding of system‑level design requirements to recommend new or alternate electrical components for both new development and legacy systems Assist with implementation of the DoD Parts Management Program (PMP) Support programs in identifying, tracking, and mitigating obsolescence and supply chain risksRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic components, including: Resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors Transformers, connectors, integrated circuits Ability to research and evaluate alternate components using datasheets, supplier documentation, and online technical resources Understanding of part obsolescence concepts and evaluation of alternate components Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a structured engineering team Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detailPreferred Qualifications Include:
Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or military programs Familiarity with industry and military standards (e.g., SAE, MIL‑SPECs, ASTM, IEEE) Experience with component‑level design, part selection, or alternate part substitution within established systems or circuits Hands‑on experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, or manufacturing environments Exposure to incorporating Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), LEAN, and Quality principles into engineering, testing, or qualification activitiesCompensation and Benefits Information:
Salary Range:
$80,000-$105,000+ •depending on experience•Full Benefits:
