Join a team designing world-class mechanical systems for natural gas pipeline and facilities
projects across the Midwest. As a Mechanical Engineer - Piping (Staff Mechanical Engineer - Pipeline & Facilities), you'll help create and refine piping and station designs
for new builds, alterations, and redevelopments-then support those designs through construction with smart, practical engineering decisions that account for budget, client needs, and site realities.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree
in Mechanical Engineering (or related degree) from an ABET-accredited
program, and 3 years
of mechanical engineering experience
Alternative equivalent paths considered based on the role requirements: Bachelor's in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology
from an ABET-accredited program with successful FE completion, plus 3 years of mechanical engineering experience
Master's Degree
in Mechanical Engineering plus 2 years
of mechanical engineering experience Ability to perform mechanical engineering design and analysis
for natural gas facilities and pipeline-related projects
Experience with mechanical design of stations and facilities, including piping systems
and material specifications Ability to prepare calculations, studies, and technical reports, including:
Pipe stress Pressure relief Equipment sizing Proficiency in developing P&IDs, piping plans, isometrics, equipment layouts, and bill of materials Experience selecting and specifying mechanical equipment (e.g., compressors, regulators, valves, meters, relief devices)
Knowledge of and commitment to codes and standards, including ASME, API, and CFR requirements Working knowledge
of applicable codes and standards such as:
ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 API 520/521 49 CFR
Part 192(preferred, but aligned expectations apply) Strong written and verbal communication Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving
approach
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, and engineering tools such as:
AutoCAD BIM (Revit) 3D rendering programs Hydraulic analysis
and HVAC analysis
programs Strong attention to detail, plus collaboration and organization skills
EIT Certification preferred Nice to
Have Skills:
Consulting experience(preferred)
Experience with vendor submittal reviews
and technical bid evaluations Familiarity with supporting construction activities such as RFIs, field visits, and as-built documentation Experience assisting with proposals, scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules Exposure to process improvement, standard development, and quality control initiatives Involvement in business development and marketing support
