Job Description

Overview This Sr. Engineer position located in New Haven, Missouri will be responsible for maintaining mainly plastic molding operations in the facility to include mold optimization, troubleshooting and production support. Assist in the development and training of personnel in the molding area and support day-to-day production needs. Duties
  • Coordinate mold repairs, and preventative maintenance activities to support production and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot tooling, molding, and process issues to minimize downtime, improve cycle times, and maintain product quality.
  • Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and product engineering teams to ensure that tooling meets dimensional, performance, and customer specifications.
  • Review part designs, GD&T, and CAD models to ensure manufacturability, tooling feasibility, and optimized molding performance.
  • Support launch activities for new programs
  • Work with mold suppliers and outside vendors for mold fabrication, modification, and repairs.
  • Analyze root causes of molding defects such as flash, short shots, warpage, dimensional variation, and seal performance issues, then implement corrective actions.
  • Support production and setup personnel on tooling best practices, mold handling, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Work on mold projects such as improved wear, mold cleaning, and ergonomic improvements.
  • Quote tooling changes with vendors and follow up on the work being completed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Engineering or technical degree
  • Able to interpret math data into usable information for tool design and build. Skills Proficient in interpreting computer-aided design (CAD) data and technical documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of common computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and email platforms.
  • Capable of working independently to complete assigned tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable in plastic mold and die construction, maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting tooling drawings and product blueprints.
  • Understanding of plastic material properties and their impact on molds and tooling performance.
Pay:
$72,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
