Job Description

Description Mechanical Systems Engineer - HVAC / Chiller Systems Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC /Heat Exchange systems to join our engineering team. This role focuses on designing and optimizing chiller systems, and supporting product testing and validation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical capability, hands-on experience with system modeling, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities System Design
  • Design and develop chiller systems, including component selection, system integration, and performance optimization.
  • Support with Mechanical systems design to optimize chiller system layout, structural design and manufacturability Testing & Validation
  • Support product testing, analyze results, and implement design improvements to ensure compliance with performance standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with designers, suppliers, and internal cross-functional teams to align with project goals and timelines. Innovation
  • Apply industry trends and emerging technologies to drive product innovation and maintain a competitive edge. Deliverables
  • Detailed mechanical design packages for chiller systems
  • Technical specifications and vendor evaluation reports
  • Installation and commissioning support documentation

  • Assist with layout, design, and drawing releases
  • Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams for part integration and PPS reviews
  • Provide factory support and participate in design reviews
  • Perform engineering calculations (ASME, flow, structural)
  • Prepare technical literature and ensure launch readiness Modeling & Analysis
  • Conduct thermodynamic modeling using proprietary software
  • Perform advanced heat transfer and refrigerant system analysis
  • Develop test plans and execute performance selections
  • Mechanical Systems design & development experience Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years of HVAC experience
  • Master's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of HVAC experience Preferred Experience
  • Hands-on experience with chiller systems and thermal analysis
  • Familiarity with ASME standards and HVAC performance testing
  • Proficiency with modeling tools and data analysis Must be able to demonstrate
  • Good understanding on systems design
  • Experience working through the complete or several stages of the product development lifecycle with focus on one or more specific System/sub-system within a HVAC/ Heat exchange related product
  • Collaboration experience with internal & external partners Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $51.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
