CNC Machining & Fabrication Location:
Greensboro, NC Job Type:
Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support our vertically integrated manufacturing operation , including CNC machining (mills, lathes, machining centers), laser cutting, forming, welding, and assembly. This role works directly with production and is responsible for quoting, process improvement, scheduling, and troubleshooting . The ideal candidate has real-world manufacturing experience and is comfortable working on the shop floor to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput. Key Responsibilities Manage jobs from RFQ through production and delivery Own quoting, scheduling, and shop floor execution across CNC machining, fabrication, laser cutting, and welding. Drive efficiency, maximize machine utilization, and solve real-world production challenges. Design for manufacturability, including fixtures, machining strategies, weldments, and flat patterns Create and modify SolidWorks models, drawings, and assemblies Ensure compliance with blueprints and quality standards Coordinate purchasing and planning for materials and outside services Support customer communication, including RFQs and technical reviews Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field 2+ years of experience in metal working manufacturing preferred Strong understanding of metal working equipment and shop-floor operations Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, SigmaNEST, AutoCAD ) Experience with blueprints and fabrication drawings Ability to develop accurate quotes and cost estimates Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Knowledge of feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining strategies Familiarity with MIG/TIG welding processes and fabrication workflows Experience with lean manufacturing or process improvement initiatives Background in purchasing, planning, or scheduling in a manufacturing environment Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel Work Environment Fast-paced, production-driven environment, dynamic work environment Shop-floor based role within a vertically integrated manufacturing facility Regular interaction with machinists, welders, and production personnel Why Join Us Opportunity to own projects from start to finish Work in a fully integrated shop with machining and fabrication under one roof Direct impact on production efficiency, quality, and delivery Hands-on role with real-world manufacturing challenges Benefits Include Medical Quarterly Profit Sharing 401k with company match Dental, Vision If you are a motivated Mechanical Engineer with a passion for manufacturing and process improvement, we encourage you to apply.
