What You Will Do Design & Develop Tooling Solutions Design and modify tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions supporting metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation Develop tooling solutions that improve safety, quality, and production efficiency Ensure tooling meets ergonomic, process, and production requirements Support Equipment & Production Processes Assist with installation, validation, and improvement of manufacturing equipment Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues affecting production performance Partner with maintenance and operations to improve equipment reliability and uptime Support preventative maintenance strategies for tooling and equipment Support New Product Introduction Contribute to product launches and program productization through tooling coordination and process readiness Partner with engineering and operations teams to ensure manufacturability and launch readiness Support engineering changes, validation activities, and production documentation Help establish standardized processes for new and existing programs Drive Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and enhance process consistency Support implementation of lean manufacturing and process optimization initiatives Maintain tooling standards, documentation practices, and revision control processes Participate in plant-wide problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate Across Teams Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams Communicate technical solutions clearly across all levels of the organization Support training and guidance for operators and technicians on tooling and equipment usage Contribute to multi-site alignment efforts when applicable Design and modify tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions supporting metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation Develop tooling solutions that improve safety, quality, and production efficiency Ensure tooling meets ergonomic, process, and production requirements Assist with installation, validation, and improvement of manufacturing equipment Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues affecting production performance Partner with maintenance and operations to improve equipment reliability and uptime Support preventative maintenance strategies for tooling and equipment Contribute to product launches and program productization through tooling coordination and process readiness Partner with engineering and operations teams to ensure manufacturability and launch readiness Support engineering changes, validation activities, and production documentation Help establish standardized processes for new and existing programs Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and enhance process consistency Support implementation of lean manufacturing and process optimization initiatives Maintain tooling standards, documentation practices, and revision control processes Participate in plant-wide problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams Communicate technical solutions clearly across all levels of the organization Support training and guidance for operators and technicians on tooling and equipment usage Contribute to multi-site alignment efforts when applicable What You Bring Education & Experience Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field 2-5 years of experience in tooling design, equipment engineering, or manufacturing engineering Experience in metal fabrication, welding, stamping, forming, or assembly environments preferred Automotive or transportation manufacturing experience is a plus Technical Skills Strong proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) Ability to create detailed drawings, assemblies, and engineering documentation Understanding of GD&T, tolerancing, and design for manufacturability (DFM) Familiarity with tooling materials, machining processes, and fabrication methods Problem Solving & Execution Ability to troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues in a production environment Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving approach Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives Quality & Safety Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems and disciplined engineering execution Exposure toIATF 16949, VDA
