Raleigh, NC Job Details Full-time $110,000 - $120,000 a year Benefits Relocation assistance Qualifications Blueprint specification interpretation Tool & die Supplier management Tooling Equipment troubleshooting Toolroom experience Vendor relationship management Sheet metal stamping Tool and die maker experience Full Job Description Tooling Engineer - Progressive Dies (High-Volume Stamping) Raleigh, NC (Relocation Assistance Available) Electroswitch is seeking a highly skilled Tooling Engineer to support high-volume metal stamping operations at our Raleigh facility. This role is critical to ensuring precision, quality, and efficiency in our tooling and die processes, supporting both production and new product development initiatives. What You'll Do Design, build, and maintain progressive dies for high-volume metal stamping Maintain and troubleshoot tooling and molds to ensure optimal performance Interpret blueprints and CAD models to support tooling design and modifications Diagnose and resolve manufacturing issues to maintain product quality and throughput Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams Develop tooling specifications (materials, tolerances, mechanics, cost estimates) Source and manage vendors for new dies and repairs (RFQs, timelines, quality) Inspect and validate tooling for accuracy and functionality Support production launches and oversee initial tool runs Order tooling components and manage inventory for new builds What You Bring 6+ years of experience in tooling, die design, or metal stamping environments Strong experience with progressive dies (required) Proficiency reading blueprints and using CAD software Hands-on experience with machine tools and precision measuring equipment Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Experience working with vendors and managing external tooling partners Mechanical engineering knowledge or equivalent hands-on expertise Preferred Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments Exposure to continuous improvement / process optimization initiatives
