Job Description

Job Description We're looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team in Winston-Salem, NC. In this role, you'll take ownership of mechanical design projects, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop, improve, and optimize our product range. You'll combine technical expertise with innovative thinking to solve complex engineering challenges while maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision. Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems and components using advanced 3D CAD software (Solid Edge, Inventor, or equivalent) Create comprehensive technical drawings, assemblies, and detailed documentation that meet internal design standards and industry specifications Perform analytical mechanical calculations, including dimensioning, structural analysis, pressure assessments, and stress evaluations Develop and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout the design lifecycle Lead or support prototype development, testing, and validation activities, translating designs into functional products Investigate design issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions through collaborative problem-solving Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and product teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with customer requirements Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help establish best practices in mechanical design and engineering processes Document design decisions, maintain design records, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related engineering discipline Five years of relevant mechanical engineering experience with delivering engineered solutions, product development, or lifecycle engineering relating to industrial or electromechanical products. Proven proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and design software (Solid Edge, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar platforms) Strong experience in creating technical drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Materials Solid foundation in mechanical calculations, engineering analysis, and design principles Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication abilities and demonstrated collaborative mindset Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment •Preferred Qualifications•Experience in R&D or New Product Development (NPD) processes Familiarity with prototype development, testing, and validation methodologies Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles Experience with project management tools and methodologies Background in continuous improvement or lean engineering practices Hands-on laboratory or field testing experience Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements relevant to mechanical design #HP Additional Information Rotork is the market-leading global flow control and instrumentation company, helping our customers manage the flow or liquids, gases and powders across many industries worldwide.
