Essential Duties and Responsibilities Advise prospective and current graduate students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering about academic program requirements and provide timely guidance on choosing and completing a program or concentration. Assist students with formulating program-specific study plans, verifying progress towards degree requirements and discuss course options based on focus area. Maintain records of student advising sessions and interactions including appointments held and appropriate notes/records on academic progress to ensure advising continuity. Maintain accurate database of graduate student records. Enter, evaluate, and audit student data in Workday Student to ensure students are progressing through their academic programs in a timely manner and to certify completion of course and non-course requirements for graduation. Work with students on academic probation to identify and address factors affecting their academic performance. Organize new and current graduate student information sessions, new graduate student orientation events, along with social and professional events for Mechanical Engineering graduate students. Advise current graduate students on on-campus course, web, international and non-course opportunities to enhance professional skills, competencies and career readiness. Serve as primary point of contact to the department chair, associate department chair, faculty advisors, department staff and current students in mechanical engineering regarding graduate school policies and procedures from admission to graduation. Collect and analyze student census data from registrar's office and Workday for evaluation and assessment of the graduate program, including creating dashboards of key student metrics. Manage responses to inquiries from prospective students about mechanical engineering graduate programs and Stevens, in general. Coordinate communications to graduate students regarding departmental, school, and Institute policies and procedures as it relates to program requirements and the graduation process and coordinate mandatory advisement sessions. Interface with ISSS for consultation to ensure that international students maintain full-time student status at the Institute in order to comply with rules and regulations of the US Immigration and Naturalization Service. Attend Mechanical Engineering Graduate Committee meetings and follow through with the action items.

Familiarity with engineering graduate programs. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrate capacity, skill and willingness to engage students and contribute to student success. Clear verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work one-on-one with students effectively. Ability to partner with leadership to achieve the goals of the ME department strategic plan for the graduate programs. Strong project and time management skills. Ability to work independently to produce high-quality work, staying abreast of complex curricular information, policies, and procedures while organizing multiple tasks and setting priorities for action and meeting deadlines in a fast[1]paced office environment. Ability to collaborate and interact with faculty, students, and staff in a collegial and professional manner Department Mechanical Engineering Center for Student Success Compensation Range In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $47,600.00 - $63,466.67. This range represents the University's good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position's scope and responsibilities, the candidate's experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation, such as incentives, stipends, or other applicable pay components.
