Client is seeking a highly motivated and innovative R D Engineer to join its advanced technology team. This role focuses on the development of next-generation aerospace fastening systems and advanced assembly solutions, including adhesive bonding, laser-based joining, robotic automation, and integrated assembly technologies. This position is a true front-end R D and design role, not manufacturing, tooling, or process engineering. Engineers must be capable of operating independently, owning early-stage design challenges, and contributing immediately with minimal ramp-up. Key Responsibilities Research & Innovation Lead R D initiatives in fastener design, adhesive bonding, laser joining, and robotic assembly Investigate emerging technologies and materials to improve performance and manufacturability Conduct feasibility studies and material evaluations Participate in weekly innovation forums and collaborative engineering discussions Design & Development Develop prototypes and validate designs using CAD, FEA, and simulation tools Design new products, systems, and test procedures Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Configuration teams Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and test protocols Testing & Validation Design and execute experiments assessing mechanical performance, durability, and environmental resistance Perform root cause analysis and failure investigations Ensure compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP, ASTM, SAE) Project Execution Manage multiple R D projects simultaneously, including planning, milestones, and reporting Interface with suppliers and customers as required Work independently with minimal supervision SOFTWARE / TOOLS USED CAD
