Job Description

Position Overview Part-Time Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer - Residential Tract Homes We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer to support residential tract home fire sprinkler system design projects throughout California.
Part-time position:
20-29 hours per week: This is a part-time position scheduled for up to 29 hours per week. This position is not eligible for company benefits, including medical, dental, vision, or vacation benefits. This position does have the potential to transition into a full-time position later. That is when it would become eligible for benefits.
Compensation:
$20-$27 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Opportunity for advancement into a full-time position, including potential raise based on performance and workload demand Desired Experience & Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of experience designing
NFPA 13D
Fire Sprinkler Systems for California residential projects including custom homes, tract homes, duplexes, townhomes, and ADUs. Proficiency in 2D CAD software for sprinkler system design (BricsCAD Premium preferred; AutoCAD experience is transferable). Ability to perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler demand (HASS software experience preferred). Ability to design and revise systems based on as-built or field-installed conditions. Working knowledge of AHJ requirements, Fire Department requirements, Water Purveyor requirements, and California Building and Fire Code concepts. Familiarity with permits and plan submittal processes and ordering water flow reports. Additional NFPA 13 and/or 13R design experience is preferred but not required. Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings including mechanical, structural, electrical, reflected ceiling, grading, civil, and plumbing plans. Professional Qualifications Strong team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate on projects initiated by others. Effective time management skills. Strong organizational and note-taking abilities. Must be available for in-person interviews. Software & Platform Experience Adobe Acrobat/PDF Microsoft Excel ProContractor
