What to Expect Tesla is continually designing new factories, manufacturing lines, and processes to deliver the high-quality products our customers expect. In nearly every part of Tesla's manufacturing process, torque tools play a critical role in product assembly. GFNV's Central Tooling Management (CTM) team is essential in ensuring these tools operate reliably and at the highest standard. The CTM team is responsible for calibrating a wide variety of torque tools to maintain tool availability and ensure equipment meets production and quality demands. The team also collaborates with cross-functional groups to support compliance with government-regulated quality audits. In addition, the CTM team plays a key role in troubleshooting high-level and critical issues involving tightening systems such as those from Atlas Copco, Desoutter, Estic, Bosch, and Bollhoff, while supporting the commissioning of new high-volume production lines. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is eager to learn rapidly evolving technologies, possesses advanced knowledge of torque tool systems (Atlas Copco experience strongly preferred), and can remain composed in high-pressure situations. The ideal candidate will have strong general computer literacy and the ability to work professionally and effectively with various cross-functional teams. What You'll Do
Assist in the commissioning of new high-volume production lines by supporting engineers in configuring torque tool equipment
Troubleshoot advanced tightening systems including torque controllers, torque tools, Ethernet connections, tool cables, tool positioning systems, tightening programs, and PLC communication interfaces
Collaborate and work with multiple on-site/off-site cross-functional engineering, quality, production and maintenance teams
Own and maintain critical servers and databases where critical information, applications and software is stored
Work closely with tool vendors to support escalated troubleshooting and help evaluate the best technology solutions for specific manufacturing applications
Train new technicians to troubleshoot and support tightening systems, particularly after line upgrades and expansions involving new technologies
Run TTF (Torque to Failure) for NPI and Quality on demand. Set up the equipment offline and provide a full report/study
Manage the following: ToolsTalk2 Server for all PF6000 controllers factory wide, user access and user rights to Atlas Copco ToolsTalk2 server, and Atlas Copco Virtual Stations and TT2 licenses on Server and FMS What You'll Bring
2+ year in high volume manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of calibration and quality audit requirements
Proficiency working in a high-impact, responsive, and collaborative team environment
2+ years of experience configuring/building tightening systems from companies like Atlas Copco, Desoutter, Stanley, Bosch, Estic, etc.
Technically proficient in Windows-based computer systems and general computer literacy (software installs, networking, file transfers)
Experience with Atlas Copco systems, electrical and mechanical repairs
Good understanding of engineering principles, tightening/fastening strategies
Experience in Fieldbus, PLC and ToolsNet intercommunication
Fastening trace analysis for proper clamp load development
Experience with developing and debugging scripts in Python, PowerShell, JavaScript Compensation and Benefits
