Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical design expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside innovative and collaborative teammates.
You'll play a key role in integrating mechanical subsystems, ensuring progressive maturity of allocated volumes, and delivering high-quality design solutions. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Suppliers, and Shared Engineering Centers), perform 3D/2D design of make parts, and validate first mountings to identify and resolve issues, applying approved modifications and supporting process improvements. We'll look to you for: Integrating mechanical subsystems by ensuring progressive maturity of allocated volumes, Performing 3D/2D of design make parts (including assembly drawings), Managing the CAD deliverables for drawings performed by CAD from the same or different sites, Ensuring compliance of bought parts with defined allocated volumes, Performing installation deliverables, Validating the first mounting, identifying issues, proposing solutions, and applying approved modifications, Analyzing waiver requests and providing solutions, Providing feedback on Non-Conformity Requests (NCRs) addressed to Engineering, Supporting process continuous improvement initiatives, Performing space allocation according to MLE inputs for tenders, Creating and maintaining Space Allocation Mock-ups (SAM) in alignment with progressive maturity rules and constraints, Supporting technical discussions with suppliers to converge on technical definitions. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering preferably applied to heavy industry, including 3D modeling, drawing creation, and mechanical design principles, Knowledge of CATIA V5 or similar CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), Familiarity with space allocation processes and mechanical subsystem integration, Ability to communicate effectively in English, including technical writing and meetings, Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze waiver requests and propose solutions, Capacity to collaborate and interface with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, Knowledge of manufacturability and maintainability constraints in the heavy industry sector, Knowledge of PLM tools like Enovia (or similar) - desired, Resilience and adaptability to manage technical discussions and converge on solutions with suppliers. Base Salary Range:
In accordance with New York State law, the anticipated salary range for this position is $78,000 - $90,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, and qualifications. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation. You don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
