Duties, Responsibilities & Other KCI is hiring an Engineering Designer to join our Marine Inspection & Rehab team in NYC. Performs work that involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures or equipment.
Assignments include but are not limited to: design and development, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in a specific, narrow area of assignments.
Works collaboratively with internal and external partners on multidisciplinary design/engineering projects.
Coordinates the work of Engineers and others who may assist on specific assignments, as required.
Reviews input from Project or Technical Managers and makes the necessary adjustments and corrections to work product.
Performs work in a timely and effective manner within assigned schedules and budgets.
Experience on all phases of design as well as provided construction administration/bid phase services is preferred
Field experience and ability to work with clients, contractors, and other disciplines is preferred not required
Multi-tasker with ability to perform structural design and development of construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel structures Qualifications Education and/or
Skills Required:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program
Proficiency in required design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Good communication and technical writing skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically. Certificates, licenses, and/or

Ability to maintain required certifications Certificates, licenses, and/or
Registrations Preferred:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment. Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
