Job Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer | New York, NY IMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in New York, NY, to lead the planning, design, and delivery of healthcare-focused mechanical systems-including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. In this role, you'll collaborate with clients and multi-discipline teams to develop code-compliant, high-performing solutions that support safe, efficient, and resilient facilities. Principal Responsibilities Lead the design of healthcare mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) from concept through construction Serve as a technical leader for project execution, coordination, and delivery across internal and external stakeholders Develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve clashes, improve constructability, and support integrated design outcomes Support client communication and technical decision-making throughout project development Guide quality control efforts and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and IMEG practices Provide construction administration support, including responses to RFIs/submittals and field observations as needed Mentor and support the growth of engineering staff through technical guidance and project leadership Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license 14+ years of experience This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Mechanical Engineering - Healthcare Team Highlights Design HVAC systems, central plants, building automation and controls, and energy recovery solutions. New York, NY State of New York Salary Range:
$130,000 - $180,000 Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
