Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our cutting-edge engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical systems and components across a variety of projects. Your expertise will drive the development of advanced mechanical solutions, ensuring they meet rigorous industry standards and client specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex system design, manufacturing processes, and research initiatives that push the boundaries of modern engineering. The Mechanical Engineer position plans and designs Capital Equipment per customer's specifications. The position is responsible for organizing highly complex activities for the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of engineering projects throughout the production process. The job involves power distribution, automation and control design for substations, power centers, switchgear, MCCs and metal fabricated electrical houses. The individual will be responsible for the project drawings and documentation with the majority of the work output being approval and manufacturing drawings. Essential Functions Creation of the Approval drawings in Autodesk Autocad Creation of a 3D Model of each Building in Autodesk Inventor Creation of production details in the flat to allow the metal to be sheared, lasered, bent (metal fabrication) Creation of production instructions Creation of weldments Support of Production personnel Attendance of meetings with Becker personnel and Customers Competencies Must possess the following skill sets: Collaboration Skills; Communication Proficiency; Problem Solving/Analysis; Technical Capability; Time Management; Works well independently and with little supervision; Organizational and presentation skills; Possess wide range of professional skills in Office Administration, Project Management and must be customer/client focus and ability to use discretion. Required Education and Experience Action oriented person with Three (3) to Five (5) Years of verifiable successful experience in mechanical design; Experience involving layout and detailing of metal fabrication parts, including weldments and CNC bend allowances. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent in materials engineering; Good written and verbal communication skills. Proven experience in mechanical engineering with a strong background in mechanical design, CAD drafting, and system integration. Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and Creo for creating detailed models and assemblies. Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, fabrication, and assembly techniques. Experience conducting FEA simulations using software like ANSYS or similar tools to validate design robustness. Ability to perform root cause analysis on mechanical issues using systematic troubleshooting methods. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), LabVIEW, MATLAB, Simulink, Arduino platforms, and their application in automated systems. Understanding of industry standards such as ASME codes & standards relevant to pressure vessels, piping, or structural components. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience working with schematics, technical drawings, and drafting standards. While preforming this position employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
